Sleep is good for you - fact.
Sleep is also great for your beauty regime.
So here are six ways that you can create magic with your beauty regime whilst you sleep…
1. Slap on the moisturiser.
One of the best ways to de-stress and unwind after a hard day in work is to take a long, hot bath. It’s also a great way of getting your mind to switch off enough to send you in to a sweet slumber. So after you’ve had your bath make sure that you moisturise all over. Your pores will be open and ready to suck up that moisture and also you’ll be able to go for a thicker cream as you’ll not have to worry about feeling greasy.
2. Rid yourself of puffy eyes.
If you’re prone to puffy eyes when you wake then all you need to do is add an extra pillow. The added height will help the fluid around your eyes drain easier and will mean that you wake up puff free. If you already have too many pillows or you find that too many pillows give you a sore neck then invest in a good quality eye cream.
3. Soften those soles.
Apply a really good, thick moisturising cream to the soles of your feet and then pop some socks on before you sleep. The socks will keep the cream locked inside so that you’re having a great overnight foot treatment. Perfect in time for the summer months when you can’t get away with dry, hard, cracked heels.
Top tip: you can also apply this treatment to your hands too. If your hands are looking dry then pop some moisturiser on and slip on some gloves moisturising gloves.
4. Treat yourself to a silk pillowcase.
I’ve actually been doing this myself and let me tell you dear readers, it works! I even got ID’d buying a bottle of vino the other week and trust me, I’m a long way off showing ID! But seriously, sleeping on a silk (or satin) pillowcase doesn’t cause creases on the skin which then in turn creates wrinkles so by upgrading that pillow you’re actually giving your skin a more youthful look (and injecting some luxury in to the bedroom).
5. Work on shiny white teeth.
You don’t need a great cosmetic dentist to have a shiny, white smile. Simply try brushing your teeth with some baking soda, leave it on for 5 minutes before rinsing throughly. Doing this at night gives the baking soda a change to do it’s thing whilst you’re not eating or drinking anything.
6. Condition your hair.
Treat yourself to a good leave in conditioner and apply just before bed. When you wake up you’re well on your way to beautiful, shiny hair.
So whilst Sleeping Beauty may have been a fairytale there is definitely some truth in being able to go to sleep and wake up with flawless good looks.
